Summary

Materials scientist and founder with 15 years across experimental research, product building, and industry.

PhD in Materials Science and Engineering. Spent four years at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory working on liquid-cell TEM and microfabricated liquid cells.

Co-founded Elos, raised over US$450K through crowdfunding, and built its international operations.

Since 2022, worked with Taiwanese manufacturers on commercial strategy and operations. Built and tested an AI marketing-content product, and currently developing an internal sales-operations system for a manufacturing client.

Experience

Brander — Founder

2022–present · Taipei

DayOne Solutions — Partner & Lead Consultant

2022–present · Taipei
  • Led strategy, go-to-market, and digital communication for seven Taiwanese manufacturers and brands, totaling about US$280K in contracts over more than three years.
  • Most clients renewed at least twice and stayed for more than two years.
  • Repositioned ORA Engineering from a price-driven contract manufacturer to a named engineering brand.
  • Wrote the script and storyboard for ORA’s brand film and worked on the shoot. The film won a Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design in 2025.
  • Currently designing and building ORA’s internal sales-operations system, with AI-assisted extraction, research, prioritization, and English reply drafting.
  • Repositioned SolidFocus as an engineering- and medical-grade development partner, ran its marketing for about a year, and trained an internal hire to take over.

Elos Skateboards — Co-founder

2016–present · San Jose → Taipei
COO, 2016–2018 · CEO, 2018–2022
  • Raised over US$450K through crowdfunding in the US, Taiwan, and Japan.
  • Built e-commerce and fulfillment across Amazon US, Japan, and EU; three online stores; and warehouses in the US, Taiwan, and Japan.
  • Led a team of about 10 as CEO.
  • Reduced SKUs and automated order flows during COVID supply-chain disruptions. The team went from about 10 to three by 2022; two people run the brand today.
  • Led licensed collaborations with Disney Japan for Star Wars and Studio Khara for Neon Genesis Evangelion.
  • Expanded into protective gear, lights, and reflectors; several became Amazon best sellers.
  • Continue to oversee monthly performance and develop Amazon operations tools.

Marketing Monster — Founder

2024–2025 · Taipei · Product discontinued
  • Built and released an AI marketing-content product to approximately 100 beta users.
  • Used company websites, social channels, and brand context to inform content generation through a chat interface.
  • Designed a grounding and guardrail layer using structured brand facts, tone-of-voice rules, and negative prompts.
  • Tracked usage in Mixpanel for two months and interviewed 12 users.
  • Decided not to continue the product based on beta data, interviews, and the business economics.
  • Built with Next.js, Supabase, and OpenAI APIs.

Voltset — Project staff, part-time

2014 · Bay Area
  • Handled logistics for Maker Faire Bay Area and the Kickstarter launch.
  • The campaign raised US$113,548 from 851 backers.
